Wedlake Bell has appointed planning law specialist Susan Hawker to its property team. Hawker, who joins as a senior assistant from Lovells, has extensive experience working for both public and private sector clients.

Yorkshire firm McCormicks has added two new assistant solicitors to its team. Jonathan Simms in the firm’s corporate and commercial department and Estelle Oates in the commercial dispute resolution team both completed their training with McCormicks, qualifying as solicitors in September.

London-based Howard Kennedy has hired a new assistant to its company commercial department. David Langford qualified in 2002 with City firm Memery Crystal, where he spent two years as a company commercial lawyer specialising in corporate finance.

Dawsons has recruited Withers’ Guy Hurst as a partner in the firm’s expanding property department. Hurst will focus on all aspects of agricultural property and estates management.
