Napthens has hired two trainees. Stacey Carter joins the commercial property group, having studied at BPP Law School in Manchester, and Ben Dredge joins the litigation team after completing the LPC at Lancashire Law School.
Bristol firm Veale Wasbrough has hired five trainees for its graduate programme. They are Alice Lees, Glynn Lloyd, Claire Wilkins, Kirsty Thomas and Chris Pew.

Canadian big-hitter Fasken Martineau Stringer Saul has hired Azlinda Ezrina Arrifin as a senior associate. Arrifin will work with Malaysian companies seeking AIM listings. She previously had her own firm in Malaysia, Azlinda Ezrina & Co.
John Hargrove has announced his retirement from UK High Court enforcement agency Shergroup. Hargrove has been chairman of Shergroup since 2004. He will continue to work as a consultant for the group for 12 months.
Nicholas Cooke QC has been appointed a senior circuit judge at Cardiff Crown Court, with effect from 25 September. Cooke, a barrister with 9 Park Place, took silk in 1998.
Shepherd and Wedderburn has hired Scott Boyle as a partner in the corporate finance group in Glasgow. He joins from Dundas & Wilson, where he was a senior associate.
Niche commercial property firm Harold Benjamin Solicitors has appointed Jonathan Mahoney as a partner in its property litigation team. Mahoney joins from Longueville Gittins, where he was head of litigation.
DLA Piper has hired Steve Pidgeon and David Lewis as partners in its Phoenix office. Pidgeon also takes up the role of co-managing partner of the office with Mark Nadeau. Both Pidgeon and Lewis were previously at Snell & Wilmer.
Edinburgh-headquartered Anderson Strathern has hired transport and projects specialist Audrey Cameron as an associate in its Glasgow office. She joins from Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, where she was director of legal and administrative services.
