Leeds firm Lupton Fawcett has acquired Sheffield firm Hackett Windle and its 24 staff. Hackett Windle founding partner Adrian Hackett is a tax specialist.

Jamie Windle, who also founded the firm in 2005, left in March 2009. It will be Lupton Fawcett’s second acquisition in eight months following its deal with Fox Hayes, which was completed in January. Lupton Fawcett managing director Richard Marshall (left) said: “This acquisition enhances our specialist expertise in a couple of key areas and also gives us a physical presence in Yorkshire’s fastest-growing city.
Allen & Overy partner Colin Pearson has left the firm to join the London office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton as a consultant in the firm’s IP department.
CM Murray has hired Edward Wanambwa from Clifford Chance. Wanambwa joins as a partner in the firm’s newly launched business immigration department. Also joining the Canary Wharf-based firm is associate Anna Birtwistle from Simmons & Simmons.
Petar Orlic has joined Cramer Pelmont Solicitors as a real estate partner in the firm’s Cavendish Square office. He joins from the London office of Paul Hastings.
Conyers Dill & Pearman has hired Devalingum Gopalla as an associate in its London hedge funds practice. Gopalla was previously a barrister at Mauritian firm Belgrave International.
David Parton has rejoined SJ Berwin as a real estate associate, having left the firm in 2008 to join Clifford Chance.
Davenport Lyons has taken on corporate partner John Hiscock from Addleshaw Goddard.
Stephenson Harwood has hired Stuart Frith as its head of corporate insolvency and restructuring. Frith will be based in London.
He was previously a partner with Leeds firm Brooke North.
Hertfordshire-based SA Law has promoted four to its partnership. They are Terence Ritchie and Lynsey Newman in property, family lawyer Keith Docking and director of finance and business support Gill Garrett.
Healthcare firm Capsticks has boosted its Birmingham office with the hire of four new lawyers. They are: dispute resolution assistant Shaun O’Malley from Mills & Reeve, employment associate Bridget Prosser from Davies & Co, healthcare associate Carol Evans from the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, and, in September, associate Lisa Robotham from the property team at Hill Dickinson.
Tim Goodman has joined West Midlands firm Wright Hassall Solicitors as a consultant in its corporate department. He moves from London-based investment bank Ambrian Capital.
Manchester-based Glaisyers Solicitors has promoted legal executive Craig Budsworth to partner. He will head the firm’s road traffic accident department.
Jill Daniels has joined SAS Daniels in Chester as an employment assistant. She was previously with the Chambers Fletcher Partnership in Norwich.

Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin has raided DLA Piper’s Philadelphia office for litigation partners Ronald Schiller, Daniel Layden and Nicole Rosenblum.
Ottowa firm Perley-Robertson Hill & McDougall has taken on arbitration partner Barry Leon from Canadian firm Torys.
SAB Capital Management general counsel Alessandro De Giorgis has moved to Curtis Mallet-Prevost Colt & Mosle as counsel in its New York corporate group.
K&L Gates has hired Roger Crane as a partner in its New York commercial disputes practice. He was previously with Nixon Peabody.
Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson has brought in William Johnson as a litigation partner. He was previously chief of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Taskforce in the Southern District of New York.
Carter Ledyard & Milburn has recruited Telisport Putsavage as a partner in its New York pesticides practice. Prior to his appointment he was a partner at Keller and Heckman.

Eversheds has hired dispute resolution partner Oommen Mathew to join its Singapore office. Mathew previously worked at local firm Haq & Selvam.
Brigit Morrison has joined the trust and private client team at Conyers Dill & Pearman in Bermuda. She was previously a senior associate at Martelli McKegg Wells & Cormack.
Walkers has boosted its litigation team by hiring partner Colette Wilkins from Truman Bodden & Company.
