Finers Stephens Innocent has hired Addleshaw Goddard’s head of equality Jane Amphlett.

She joins as a partner in the employment group, having been a partner at Addleshaws. Finers managing partner Paul Millett said: “This is the fifth partner-level lateral hire we have made in the past year.”
-Dawsons has taken on former Baker & McKenzie head of London corporate Bernd Ratzke as a partner in London.
-Aerospace specialist Gates and Partners has hired associate Saleema Brohi from Global Aerospace and assistant Diego Garrigues Ruiz from airline Iberia.
-Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has appointed investment funds lawyer Ash Gulati as senior counsel in London. He joins the firm from UBS Investment Bank, where he was head of the prime brokerage and equity derivatives legal team.
-Covington & Burling has further boosted its London office with the hire of litigation partner Gaetan Verhoosel from Debevoise & Plimpton, where he was international counsel.
-London firm Wallace has promoted commercial and IP lawyer Matthew Pryke to partner.
-Marriott Harrison has hired Addleshaw Goddard partner Dee Sian to join its London corporate team.
-Employment boutique Archon has promoted James Williams and Jill Scott to partner.
-Oxford firm Henmans has taken on clinical negligence associate Carolyn Lower from Pictons in Milton Keynes.
-Assistant Victoria Tester has joined Needham & James’ Stratford office after a spell doing charity work in Africa. She was previously with Underwoods Solicitors.
-Suffolk-based legal consultancy Geotrupes has recruited Field Fisher Waterhouse chief executive Peter Blair.
-Brachers has promoted three partners: Bill Butler in commercial; Darren Stevens in employment; and Shirley Moore in insolvency.
-Burges Salmon property partner Carol McFarlane has left the firm to pursue other interests. Private client partner Martin Mitchell and property partner Bob Smyth have retired from partnership, but will continue to work as a consultants. Rail and health and safety partner Clive Fletcher-Wood has retired and transferred his clients to other partners at the firm.
-Brethertons has taken on five new associates: Edward Bible joins the insolvency team from Darbys; Ignacio Morillas-Paredes joins the litigation team from RFB Legal; agricultural lawyer Tristram Van Lawick joins from Lodders; and Paramjeet Kaur bolsters the property litigation team after leaving Eversheds.
-Black Country firm George Green has promoted James Coles to the position of partner in its dispute resolution department.
-Ian Herbert has joined as a partner at Darwin Gray Solicitors in Cardiff. Herbert is an insolvency expert and was formerly head of commercial litigation and insolvency at Hugh James.
-Staffordshire firm Else Commercial Solicitors has recruited real estate partner Peter Fox as head of property. He was previously a partner at Burton-on-Trent firm PG Fox & Co.
-Weightmans has expanded its insurance litigation costs department by hiring partner Howard Dean from Beachcroft. He will be based in Birmingham.
-Howes Percival has boosted its Northampton employment team by taking on assistant Hannah Pryce from Hextalls.
-Healthcare specialist Hempsons has bolstered its Harrogate office. Assistant Melea McFarlane joins from Kennedys; employment assistant Catherine Charlton arrives from Eversheds; IP assistant Kathryn Robinson joins from Bird & Bird; and assistant Rebecca Pallot moves from Hempsons’ London office.
-Yorkshire firm Chadwick Lawrence has
promoted five partners: John Barker and Michael Watson in the commercial department; Sarah Haller in conveyancing; Philippa Selby in personal injury; and Emma Pearmaine in family law.
-Ward Hadaway has strengthened its Leeds office with the appointment of experienced commercial property partner Judy Fawcett from Addleshaw Goddard in Leeds.
-Walker Morris has promoted five employees to director-level and six to associates. -Sweden-based Linklaters employment lawyer Anna Jerndorf has joined local firm Magnusson.
-Nordic firm Hannes Snellman has recruited private equity partner Roger Johnson to head its operation in Stockholm. He joins from Linklaters, where he was a managing associate.
-Pedersoli e Associati has raided Ashurst’s Italian practice, taking on equity partner Maura Magioncalda and three associates.

-Middle East firm Al Tamimi & Company has announced the appointment of four new partners: Jody Glenn Waugh in banking; Khalid Al Hamrani in dispute resolution; and Mohamed Khodeir and Marcus Wallman in corporate.
-Dewey & LeBoeuf has boosted its New York corporate finance group with the hire of partner John Cobb from Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy.
-Real estate partner Terry Livermore has transferred from Calgary-based Walton International to Calgary firm Gowling Lafleur Henderson.
-Brick Court Chambers’ private client specialist Jonathan Harris is to join Serle Court as a tenant.
-Professor Dame Joan Higgins has been appointed as the new lay chair of the Queen’s Counsel Selection Panel, replacing Baroness Butler-Sloss.
