•Bedell Cristin has recruited Christopher Anderson in its Guernsey office. Anderson, who joins as a partner from Ozannes, has extensive experience in private equity.

•Former Beachcroft partner Victoria Handley and former Halliwells partner Laurence Brown have teamed up to launch Handley Brown. The new law firm specialises in defendant services to insurers.

•Arthur Cox has appointed Richard Amberry as a partner in its capital markets group. Amberry joins from Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker’s London office.

•Barlow Lyde & Gilbert has recruited Chris Brennan, who joins as an associate from global brokering company Fimat, where he worked in legal compliance.

•Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy has welcomed back former associate Richard Rosberger. Rosberger, who joins the New York office, returns after five years serving as Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

•US firm Akerman Senterfitt has recruited Jason Molder into its construction practice as an associate. Molder joins from Ferencik Libanoff Brandt Bustamante & Williams.

•East Anglian law firm Kester Cunningham John has promoted dispute resolution lawyer Huw Wallis to its partnership. Wallis joined the firm last year from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

•The Legal Services Commission has recruited Barry Elliott and Jane Hickman. Elliott, who will have a four-year tenure at the commission, is the former director of finance at the Surrey and Sussex Strategic Health Authority.

•Moorhead James has promoted Stuart Simoes to its partnership. Simoes has been an associate in the firm’s property department since 2005.
