  • Browne Jacobson has hired IP specialist professor Paul Torremans as a consultant in its IP team. Torremans is a professor at Nottingham University.

  • Morgan Lewis & Bockius has appointed Mark Matthews as a partner in the firm’s Washington tax and litigation practice. Matthews joins from the Internal Revenue Service, where he was deputy commissioner. He also has experience as global co-head of anti-money laundering at Deutsche Bank.

  • The Trainee Solicitors Group (TSG) has elected Halliwells’ trainee Melissa Worth as its new president. Worth takes over from incumbent Clyde & Co trainee Genevieve Monclin.

  • The Fraud Advisory Panel has appointed white-collar and corporate crime barrister Jonathan Fisher QC as a trustee and director. Fisher is a consultant and in-house counsel with McGrigors, specialising in regulatory, corporate defence and tax investigation.
  • Leeds-based Lee & Priestley has hired commercial property specialist David Coleman as a partner. Coleman joins from the Leeds office of Cobbetts.
  • GE Commercial Finance has promoted Kevin Dunn to European head of leveraged finance. Dunn was previously European general counsel for GE Commercial Finance.

  • London-based patent and IP litigation firm Forsyth Simpson has hired Suzanne Streatfield as a senior associate. Streatfield joins from DLA Piper where she was a senior associate in its IP litigation team.

  • Black Country law firm George Green has taken on two new trainee solicitors and appointed a new assistant. The new trainees are Deborah Beal and Carrie Smith. Laura Charles becomes an assistant solicitor within the firm’s corporate and commercial group.

  • Ricksons has promoted insurance litigation specialist Anand Raghupati to its partnership. Raghupati is based in the Preston office and has been with the firm since 1997, when he joined as a trainee.

  • Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has hired structured finance specialist Michelle Taylor as a partner in its Hong Kong office. Taylor joins from Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker where she was a partner.

  • Matrix Solicitors has appointed Amanda Illing as practice director. The new post was created as part of a restructure and expansion of the Matrix team. Illing was previously practice manager.
