Paul Hastings strengthens Frankfurt with Bakers trio

Paul Hastings has become the latest international firm to boost its Frankfurt office with a triple partner hire from Baker & McKenzie.
Partners Regina Engelstaedter, Jan Gernoth and Ali Sahin are joining Paul Hastings to focus on M&A and general corporate work.
The news follows recent hires in Frankfurt by Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom (6 February 2012) and Allen & Overy (23 January 2012).
Meanwhile Dechert opened a Frankfurt office last month (17 January 2012) with hires from Dewey & LeBoeuf and Mayer Brown.
Paul Hastings opened its Frankfurt office in 2008 and currently has five partners there, with a focus on corporate law. Frankfurt office chair Christopher Wolff said the hires represented a “significant expansion” in the firm’s capabilities there.
The appointments follow Paul Hastings’ January hire of Hengeler Mueller London partner Karl Balz, who is splitting his time between the UK and Frankfurt.
