US firm Paul Hastings has appointed a new head for its Paris office as managing partner Dominique Borde steps down to return to practice.
The firm’s French corporate head Olivier Deren will replace Borde, who has been in charge since the completion of Paul Hastings’ 2004 merger with French boutique Moquet Borde (9 December 2003).
Deren was one of the team from Moquet Borde who joined the firm in 2004.
The appointment follows last year’s hire of six partners from Hogan Lovells and Proskauer (22 February 2011) and the September arrival of Weil Gotshal & Manges restructuring specialist Lionel Spizzichino.
