As our two partnership stories today reveal, it is not magic circle firms that have emerged as the most favourable for associates hoping to make the partnership.
Instead, some good news for once-troubled, now-bouncing-back Hammonds, which has emerged as the most generous promoter, with its 19 new partners comprising nearly ten percent of the total partnership, albeit at least in part in an attempt to fill spots in the partnership abandoned in the not so distant past. When it comes to making it as a woman, meanwhile, it is the mid-market where women are likely to fare best.
Addleshaw Goddard made up nine this year, of whom six of were women, while Denton Wilde Sapte promoted 12, of whom five had two X chromosomes, and women comprised a third of the new partners at Pinsents and Ashurst. See story
