Partners on the move...

Manchester law firm James Chapman & Co has promoted three lawyers topartner. Sharon

Kamil joined the firm in 1997 from Halliwell Landau. Kamilspecialises in defendant

personal injury work for insurance sector clients.Anne-Marie Morgan-Barrett, who

specialises in professional indemnity work,joined James Chapman from London-based Barlow

Lyde & Gilbert. MichelleGarlick joined in 1996 from Irwin Mitchell. Garlick also advises

onprofessional indemnity litigation. James Chapman now has 26 partners.Richard Norbruis,

the partner in charge of Dutch law firm Nauta Dutilh'soffice in New York, is due to join

Freshfields as a partner in Amsterdam.Norbruis has been a partner with Nauta Dutilh

since 1991. He moved to NewYork in 1993 and became managing partner in 1994. Freshfields

will haveseven partners in Amsterdam after Norbruis arrives.Ward Hadaway has made up

several staff to partners. In the commercialdepartment are David Knox, Elizabeth

MacRobert and Ian McDonald. RogerO'Donnell, in personal injury and healthcare , Peter

Hornsey in commerciallitigation and Lesley Fairclough in planning and development also

becomepartners.
