Partner losses rise at Clifford Chance New York

Clifford Chance US has lost yet another partner, this time to McDermott Will & Emery.

Capital markets partner Thomas McGavin, a legacy Rogers & Wells (R&W) lawyer, is joining McDermott at the same time as Joseph Suh who is moving from Morrison & Foerster (MoFo).

Also a capital markets specialist, Suh spent a number of years working with McGavin both at R&W and the post merger Clifford Chance before going to MoFo.

Both lawyers will join McDermott’s New York office.

McGavin is one of a number of departures that has hit Clifford Chance’s New York office in the past few months. The most recent departures include intellectual property partners Eric Lobenfeld and Ira Schaefer who joined Hogan & Hartson in November. While the head of the IP department Leora Ben-Ami left for Kaye Scholer.
