Jeremy Parr is set to take over as Linklaters corporate head when David Barnes stands down in April.
Parr was one of three names understood to be in the frame when Barnes revealed his decision not to seek a second term last month. Charlie Jacobs and Matthew Middleditch were other partners whose names were mooted, but Parr has emerged as the front-runner.
Jacobs ruled himself out of the race last week. “I’m happy enough doing the deals,” he said.
An announcement on both the corporate role and the position of head of the Americas is expected in April.
Parr declined to comment.
