Southampton firm Paris Smith’s senior partner Richard Smith has retired after 10 years at the helm. Nick Vaughan, who specialises in commercial property, lending and charities law, replaced him as senior partner at the beginning of this year.
Smith specialised in family law for more than 25 years. He took over as senior partner in 2005 and was managing partner of the 190-year-old firm between 1998 and 2005.
During his tenure he saw off some 15 merger approaches. Paris Smith has an annual turnover of £14m and 26 partners.
