Holt, who has been a partner at the Manchester firm since 1998, will take over from incumbent Steven Grant on 1 January 2011. She told The Lawyer that it had always been her ambition to lead the firm.

Grant, who assumed the managing partner role in January 2008 after it was relinquished by Joy Kingsley, decided not to stand for re-election but will continue in a senior role at the firm.

He joined Pannone in 1984 and was head of corporate before becoming managing partner

Kingsley’s senior partner post, which was created in 2008 when she stepped down as firm chief, will be up for election at the end of this year.
