Pannone has handed its managing partner Steven Grant the role of senior partner with immediate effect, following the departure of previous incumbent Joy Kingsley for smaller firm JMW.
Grant takes up the role after an uncontested election. He was due to step down as managing partner at the end of this year, after he announced that he was not seeking re-election.
Former head of clinical negligence Emma Holt was elected managing partner in May and has now taken up that position (14 May 2010).
The firm decided to accelerate the process after Kingsley left at the end of last month. She is currently on gardening leave, before she joins JMW in September as senior partner (25 May 2010).
Grant began his term as managing partner in 2008 after Kingsley stood down from that role.
Holt said: “I’m delighted that Steven has become senior partner. He’s successfully steered the firm through challenging economic conditions and his wealth of experience and knowledge will prove to be invaluable as Pannone enters the next stage of its development.”
Grant added: “I’m very much looking forward to working closely with Emma who’ll be an outstanding managing partner.”
