Pannick triumphant for BBC on cash for honours injunction
It was third time lucky for the BBC’s head of litigation Sarah Jones yesterday as the Court of Appeal lifted the ban against the broadcaster reporting the contents of its cash for honours injunction.
The accolade of the win, however, does not go to either Andrew Caldecott QC or Manuel Barca of One Brick Court, who had been defeated in the last two rounds in the courts, but to David Pannick QC of Blackstone Chambers.
For this one the BBC had to win, and it needed one of the best public law silks around.
