Heatwaves and salary squeezing can only mean one thing: a summer staycation. According to hotel chain Travelodge, two-thirds of Britons are taking a summer holiday in the UK this year – up from 41 per cent in 2012.

Some of those sun-dwellers will no doubt retreat to popular holiday camp Centre Parcs this year. While they enjoy a jolly break in the forest (not jealous, or anything), we thought it a good time to catch up with the holiday camp’s head of legal, Rajbinder Singh-Dehal. For all you staycation fans out there, Singh-Dehal is working on the finishing touches to a project that will see Center Parcs open its fifth site next year.

With his time taken up on the mammoth project, there’s little room for a weekend staycation for this chap. But his interview makes for good holiday reading, should you be on a train to St Ives.
