Osborne Clarke has welcomed an Italian member to its international alliance, signing Milan-based boutique Abbatescianni e Associati.
The 12 partner firm, led by founder Girolamo Abbatescianni, formally signed up to the alliance yesterday (Thursday 22 April) at Osborne Clarke’s alliance board meeting in Milan.
The move comes after a two-year courtship, and affords Osborne Clarke access to Abbatescianni’s 60 lawyers across offices in Milan, Rome and Brescia.
Abbatescianni specialises in corporate, M&A, intellectual property, employment and real estate. The firm has also boasted a highly rated tax practice since its 1996 merger with tax accountancy firm, Studio Colombo.
It is not known whether the firm will rebrand under the Osborne Clarke name, or will continue practising as Abbatescianni.
Osborne Clarke’s Alliance now includes offices in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Finland, Denmark, Russia and France, in addition to the firm’s fully merged German practice in Cologne.
Alliance members contribute to a centralised marketing fund and attend quarterly alliance board meetings.
Neither Osborne Clarke nor Abbatescianni were available for comment.
