Osborne Clarke scoops second Nomura litigation mandate

Osborne Clarke has scooped its second high-profile instruction from Nomura in as many weeks with the mandate to advise the Japanese bank on the latest employment claim it faces.

The bank faces an unfair dismissal claim brought by Stefano Ghersi, previously head of debt capital markets at Nomura. Ghersi is also claiming breach of his employment contract and that Nomura has not paid all his salary.

Osborne Clarke partner Richard Brown has been instructed to defend the bank against the allegations, with Blackstone Chambers’ Paul Goulding QC as counsel.

The firm is also representing Nomura against the £7.5m breach of contract claim brought by senior bond trader Luis Marti-Sanchez.

London and St Albans firm KSB Law is representing Ghersi in his claim against the bank.
