Osborne Clarke has promoted five lawyers into its partnership in its biggest promotion round since 2007.
The new partners are spread around five different practice areas, with four based in Bristol and just one - real estate litigation partner Gary Lawrenson - in the City.
Managing partner Simon Beswick said in a statement: “We’re proud of what our new partners have achieved to date and excited about what they’ll bring to our business in the future. Demand’s exceptionally strong in our focus sectors and this has been a key factor in the promotion process. The size of this round of promotions is testament to how well placed the business is, and its commitment to growing in the future.”
The latest promotions come after two years of limited opportunities for associates at the firm. Last year, Osborne Clarke promoted two partners into the private equity group following a year when no new partners were made up.
Last week, Osborne Clarke announced an 8 per cent revenue hike for the 2010-11 financial year (6 May 2011).
The new partners are: Carl Thompson: Construction Catherine Wolfenden: Regulatory Conrad Davies: M&A/corporate finance Gary Lawrenson: Real estate litigation Michelle McGurl: Real estate development
