Corporate and IT specialist Osborne Clarke is to open a new office in the rapidly developing Thames Valley region.
The Reading office will initially be staffed by employment specialist Danielle Kingdon, who will be partner in charge of the office, and London-based corporate partner Richard Smerdon.
Osborne Clarke managing partner Leslie Perrin said the firm expected the office to have grown to 12 fee earners within 18 months, accounting for 10 per cent of the practice's gross fee income in three years.
“We already have clients based in the Thames Valley, but our main objective will be to attract and grow new business,” said Perrin.
Kingdon said the office would be concentrating on IT, employment and company commercial law.
In July, City firm Manches & Co strengthened its presence in the region by taking over 224-year-old Oxford firm Morrell Peel & Gamlen.
Other Reading firms, such as Blandy & Blandy, have taken on new staff recently, while Thames Valley-based Pitmans has enjoyed massive growth.
