Osborne Clarke boosts planning

Osborne Clarke has poached the head of environmental and planning law from Bristol firm Lyons Davidson.

Kevin Gibbs will join the firm's Bristol office next month. Osborne Clarke's environmental group currently has one other partner, Alan John. He will remain its head.

John says: "Kevin's experience will complement and broaden the service we provide. We now have business specialisms. Kevin is a waste management specialist."

Gibbs says he moved because Osborne Clarke has bigger environmental and planning clients than 21-partner Lyons Davidson.

"It was time to move on. Lyons Davidson is good at what it does, but its growth is mainly in personal injury insurance work."

He adds that the parting is amicable.
