Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has dealt a devastating blow to Coudert Brothers after acquiring all eight London-based partners.

The US firm is also poaching Coudert’s three remaining Moscow-based partners including star partner John Sheedy.

Coudert executive board member Edward Tillinghast is being relocated from New York to serve as interim head of the London office. Russia practice head Richard Dean will continue to run Coudert’s industry-leading Russia practice.

“We have allocated firm resources to ensure uninterrupted services to our clients,” said Clyde E. Rankin, III, chairman of Coudert. “We will continue to service our clients’ needs in London and Moscow by leveraging the strength of our global operations and practices.”
