Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has tied up with a Vietnam firm run by its former Hong Kong managing associate.
Orrick’s alliance with Hanoi firm LVN & Associates launched today. Former Orrick Hong Kong managing associate Linh Qyunh Doan recently established the office and is the firm’s sole lawyer.
Doan has advised on foreign investments, projects finance and international trade in Vietnam for more than 10 years.
The association will provide Orrick’s clients with integrated international and Vietnam law services across a range of sectors, including investment, energy, infrastructure, capital markets, dispute resolution, IP and real estate.
“Vietnam’s the most dynamic emerging market in South East Asia,” said Orrick’s Asia senior partner Christopher Stephens. “We’ve been involved in Vietnam-related work since the late 1990s. Recently, our clients have come to include investors from China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan and elsewhere in Asia, as well as the traditional US and European multinationals and institutions.
“Our association with LVN & Associates is a natural extension of our strategy to better position our practices for the increasing levels of inter-regional investment flows within Asia.”
In Asia Orrick has offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo.
