Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has appointed real estate partner Michael McAndrews as head of its Los Angeles office
McAndrews has specialised in real estate-related matters for more than 20 years. His practice counts corporates, financial institutions, investment companies and real estate developers among its clients. John MacKerron, managing director for offices, said: "Mike's strong leadership skills became evident when he served as a principal architect of the firm's new global operations centre and as chair of the firm's 2001 annual committee. I feel confident that, under Mike's leadership, the Los Angeles office will continue to prosper and expand its presence in the South California market." The Los Angeles office boasts around 60 fee-earners, who focus on technology, litigation, finance and real estate work. Lawyers in the office have been responsible for handling much of the finance work related to the infrastructure of the region, including the Rose Bowl and the Los Angeles Convention Centre.
