Orrick beefs up New York litigation with Heller Ehrman hire

Orrick Herrington & Suttcliffe has bolstered its litigation practice with the hire of a partner from the New York office of Heller Ehrman.

Richard Martin, who was formerly managing partner and head of litigation at Heller Ehrman's New York office, has joined Orrick as a partner in New York to strengthen its dispute resolution and white collar crime practice.

Orrick New York office head Peter Bicks said: "Dick's addition to our litigation practice is a significant win for Orrick. His highly regarded litigation practice will help broaden and deepen our practice."

Martin was previously a partner at corporate and securities boutique Werbel & Carnelutti in New York, an affiliate of Italian firm Studio Carnelutti. When Werbel Carnelutti merged with Heller Ehrman in 1990, Martin become one of the founding partners of the office.
