ORR up for grabs as new head of legal appointed

The newly created Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) has appointed a former Linklaters lawyer as its head of legal services.

Juliet Lazarus, a former consultant at Linklaters will join the ORR, which came into effect today replacing the Office of the Rail Regulator, on 19 July. In its former guise, the office did not have an in-house lawyer and used Norton Rose as its external legal advisor.

A spokesman for the ORR said it has not been decided whether it will continue to use external lawyers or keep legal work in-house. "That is a decision for Juliet to advise on," he said.
