Construction lawyer Peter O’Brien has joined Clarke Willmott as a partner from competitor Osborne Clarke.

O’Brien, a dual-qualified lawyer and quantity surveyor, joins the construction law team based in Bristol.
He believes his previous experience working as a quantity surveyor on big infrastructure projects, including on the Hong Kong International Airport project, gives him an edge in the sector. “I’m particularly interested in the renewable energy sector, which will become increasingly important to the economy in the coming years,” he commented. Steve Clarke, head of the construction team at Clarke Willmott, said: “Peter’s no-nonsense commercially focused advice will be a huge asset to our team and our clients.”
Simon Little has joined Shearman & Sterling’s London-based M&A team as a senior associate. He was previously a senior corporate associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in New York.
Stewarts Law has announced the arrival of two solicitors to its London office. Lauren Sullivan, who was previously an associate in the pensions and employment department of Slaughter and May, has joined the employment department. Daniel Green, who was previously an associate solicitor at Thrings, has joined the personal injury department.

Sussex firm Mayo Wynne Baxter has announced the promotion of three of its lawyers to the firm’s partnership. Clinical negligence solicitor Robert Bell, property litigator Steven Holt and employment lawyer Martin Williams have all been made up.

Carey Olsen senior conveyancer John Le Tissier has been called to the Guernsey Bar to become an advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey. Le Tissier joined what was then Carey Langlois in 1977 and is now a member of Carey Olsen’s property team.
