Mark Adams has joined the London office of McClure Naismith as a new partner in the firm’s property unit.

Prior to joining McClure, Adams ran his own niche practice, where he advised funds, property companies and investors based in the UK and overseas on a range of commercial property transactions. Previous to this, he worked at City firms Allen & Overy and Berwin Leighton Paisner.

Hogan Lovells has added Nicola Rondel, a senior associate, to its London pensions team. Rondel rejoins Hogan Lovells from Jones Day, where she was an associate. She trained with legacy firm Lovells, qualifying in 2000 before leaving for Jones Day in 2007.
Field Fisher Waterhouse has announced the appointment of partner John Bowman to
the firm’s real estate practice. Bowman joins from Burness, where he was a consultant specialising in planning, non-contentious environmental law and regulatory matters.
Royds has expanded its employment team with the hire of Caroline Doran, who joins as a partner. She comes from Sprecher Grier Halberstam, where she was also a partner.
Howard Kennedy has announced the promotion of employment solicitor Naylah Hamour and transaction finance solicitor Samantha Hook to its partnership. Hamour joined the firm in 2010, while Hook joined in 2006.
Stephenson Harwood has added to its projects team with the hire of four associates: Jennifer Westall, William Lewis, Phil Harris and Ian Pumfrey. All four join from Eversheds.
Martineau has strengthened its employment team with the arrival of partner Karen Macpherson. She comes from DLA Piper, where she was also a partner.
Middlesex firm Turbervilles has bagged three new staff members to bolster its employment and family teams. Zoe Bedford joins the employment department as an assistant solicitor from Clarkslegal in Reading. Gemma Kemp has been appointed senior legal executive in the family department. She joins from Hart Brown, where she gained experience in divorce and separation and financial disputes. Kate Kilpatrick also joins the family department as an assistant solicitor following the completion of her training contract this month.
South East
An employment judge has joined Withy King Solicitors in Oxford as a partner. Mark Emery joins after eight years with West End firm Bindmans and stints in the City and charity sector.
Sussex law firm Mayo Wynne Baxter has added solicitor Katie White to its litigation department. A former Rix & Kay solicitor, White qualified in 2010 after working her way up from a secretarial position.
South West
Ashfords has recruited Lesley Powell as an associate in its family team. She comes from Everys, where she was made a partner in 2005 specialising in family law.
Thompsons Solicitors has promoted one of its senior team members to national coordinator for serious injury. James Davies, the senior serious injury solicitor at the firm’s Bristol office, was previously head of the serious injuries unit for the firm in the South West.
North
Manchester-based Gateley has strengthened its employment division following the appointment of lawyer and immigration specialist Rizwana Ishaq. She joins as a senior associate from Eversheds, where she was an associate.
Andrew Keyser QC has been appointed circuit judge at Leeds Combined Court Centre. Keyser will be the judge with responsibility for the Technology & Construction Court. He was previously a barrister with Cardiff-based 9 Park Place chambers.
Scotland
HBJ Gateley has completed the lateral hire of a new partner to bolster its real estate practice in Edinburgh. Iain Grieve joins from Burness, where he was a partner.
Europe
Squire Sanders & Dempsey has appointed Eugenia Bektasheva as European partner
in the banking and finance department in its Moscow office. Bektasheva was previously a senior associate at Allen & Overy’s Moscow office.
Anouschka Zagorski joins Baker & McKenzie’s banking and finance team as senior counsel in the Frankfurt office. Zagorski comes from Allen & Overy, where she was a partner.
Asia
Ashurst has announced the addition of partner Chris Whiteley to its international finance team in Hong Kong. Whiteley has been a partner in the firm’s London office since 2006.
US
Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has revealed that capital markets and M&A lawyer Bruce Czachor has joined the firm’s corporate practice in New York as a partner.
Czachor comes from Shearman & Sterling in New York, where he was also a partner.
K&L Gates has added Judy Hlafcsak as a health care partner in its Pittsburgh office.
Hlafcsak returns to K&L Gates from Boca Raton Regional Hospital, where she served as interim vice president and general counsel.

It is an East Sussex legal merry-go-round; Rix may have lost White but they recently gained Duxbury. I would say that's good business in the "transfer market" for Rix. Let's hope Duxbury has already started scoring goals.
