Munich IT partner Wolfgang Büchneris to leave Hogan Lovells to join Jones Day, together with counsel Undine von Diemar.
Move of the week
Büchner, who had been a partner at legacy firm Lovells since 1988, specialises in TMT transactions, outsourcing and IT projects, and has advised on Bundesliga audio-visual broadcasting rights for Deutsche Telekom. Büchner told German legal magazine Juve that his decision to move was partly based on conflicts of interest arising from the May 2010 merger of Lovells and Hogan & Hartson, but said it was “naturally very difficult to leave” after 30 years at the firm. Hogan Lovells has had to decline mandates from Deutsche Telekom and Sky due to conflicts.
