KPMG has appointed Clifford Chance associate Misha Patel as assistant general counsel.

Patel was a corporate finance lawyer at the magic circle firm, working from its London and Dubai offices. She will report directly to KPMG general counsel Vanessa Sharp and will work with the accountancy firm’s office of general counsel team, based in London. Sharp said: “We’re very pleased to welcome someone of Misha’s undoubted talent and potential to our team. KPMG is expanding as a global network and has ambitious plans for the future so her experience, expertise and engaging personality will be a valuable asset to our team and to the firm.”
Hogan Lovells antitrust compliance co-head Suzanne Rab has joined King & Spalding as a partner in its London competition team.

Osborne Clarke has boosted its London digital business offering with the hire of Olswang associate Jas Purewal. He will develop the firm’s interactive entertainment practice alongside partner Paul Gardner.
Mayfair firm Gordon Dadds has recruited Starr & Partners partner Michael Farrelly
as a partner and head of its employment group. The firm has also appointed Naim
Qureshi as a partner in its family department. Qureshi joins from Healys, where he was also a partner.
Greenwoods has boosted its business defence team with the promotion of Robert
Starr to associate director.
Manches Thames Valley has brought in Shoosmiths partner Eugene Wojciechowski, who will lead the Reading-based employment team.
Bond Pearce has strengthened its competition practice with a pair of appointments. Matthew Giles has joined as a senior associate from Hogan Lovells, while Victoria Marsh has joined as a senior consultant. Marsh was previously a principal lawyer in the competition, regulatory and wholesale legal team at Royal Mail Group.
DWF has strengthened its Manchester private client practice with the acquisition
of niche firm Lane-Smith & Shindler. The 11-strong team making the transition is
led by founding partner Geoffrey Shindler and partner Paul Davies.
Watson Burton partner and sports law specialist John Devine has joined North East
firm Muckle as head of its charities and sports practice.
DLA Piper has grown its Manchester asset finance team with the hire of Alan Cunningham as a partner. Cunningham joins from DWF, where he had held the positions of asset finance head and banking and finance head.
Chris Moss has joined as a partner to lead its corporate arm, while Nexus head of
employment Carl Moran has also joined the Manchester firm. The employment group
has been further strengthened with the arrival of associate Laura Skelly from
Irish firm Mason Hayes & Curran has grown its EU, competition and antitrust practice with the appointment of Niall Collins as a senior associate. Collins joins from Latham & Watkins, where he was a member of the global antitrust and competition practice. He was previously a member of Ashurst’s competition team.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has beefed up its Hong Kong finance team with the recruitment of Howard Lam as a banking partner. Lam joins from magic circle rival Linklaters, where he was a counsel in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

practice. Gerald Farano, head of the Washington DC corporate group at his previous firm, has joined as a partner along with of counsel Danielle Varnell.
