O’Melveny & Myers has promoted a record 18 of its associates to the partnership with the two lawyers elected in London marking the first newly elected lawyers based in its London office.
The election of Paul Loynes and Solomon Wifa in London is a boost, given they are the office’s first two partner promotions.
Arthur Culvahouse, chairman of O’Melveny & Myers, said: “Not only is it the largest new partner class in our firm’s 121-year history, it is also one of the most diverse.”
Of the newly 18 elected partners, two are based in the firm’s London offices, one in Shanghai and the rest are in the US.
O’Melveny and Myers partners enjoy an average profit per partner of $1.615m making them the 18th most profitable partners in the US.
This week, New York firm Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison announced it had promoted three associates to its partnership, half the number in 2005.
