Olswang has won Barclays Private Equity as a client, muscling in on main advisers Pinsent Curtis Biddle and Addleshaw Booth & Co
Pinsents' main relationship partner for Barclays Private Equity (BPE) Jim Lavery recently decamped to DLA. It is understood that DLA, which has a strong relationship with the client's parent company Barclays, is confident Lavery will bring BPE to the firm.
BPE came across Olswang almost by accident. The firm was working on the £18m management buyout of Salter Housewares for another private equity house. The original backer dropped out of the deal and BPE stepped in and continued to use Olswang.
Olswang corporate partner Chris Mackie led the Salter deal.
Rob Myers, who led the Salter deal for BPE, said: "Olswang enabled us to complete a complex transaction in a short time frame and we were very pleased with the service we received.
