Taylor Wessing partner Richard Clifton joined Olswang as a partner in the private equity team last week (19 March). Clifton, who specialises in technology, media and telecommunications, real estate and general corporate work had been a partner at Taylor Wessing since 2002. Clifton acted for the management and acquisition vehicle for the Graphite Capital deal in 2006, opposing Olswang, which represented Graphite Capital in the management buyout. Olswang's private equity practice has worked on deals in the utilities sector, including advising Canadian funds on the sale of Thames Water, which was acquired by Australia's Macquarie Bank for £8bn.
