Olswang launches in Madrid with TwoBirds' local corporate head
Olswang has opened only its third overseas office with the hire of Bird & Bird Madrid corporate head Javier Vasserot.

The office is set to open in September this year and will focus on corporate, banking and restructuring as well as litigation.
The Spanish outpost follows launches in Brussels and more recently Berlin, where Olswang hired a group of real estate lawyers from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer last year (25 March 2010).
The firm said that Vasserot will be joined by further partners to help build a team of associates with experience of handling European and Spanish deals.
Olswang chief executive David Stewart said the firm was committed to making strategic international investments.
“This is an important step in our plan to build a full-service European network,” added Stewart. “Javier will build a team of energetic and innovative lawyers to deliver Olswang’s combination of sector focus and full service capability.”
