Olswang guides BBC into digital age

Media specialists Olswang bagged a key role on the switchover from analogue to digital television, advising the BBC on the contractual arrangements for the change in its television services. Media and telecommunications partners Matthew Phillips and Selina Potter led the Olswang team. The firm advised on the renegotiation of the transmission agreements with National Grid Wireless to prepare for the new high-power digital broadcasts. Olswang also advised on the expansion of the BBC’s digital radio network, which will be carried out by Arquiva. A team from Baker & McKenzie, led by partner Duncan Reid-Thomas, advised Arqiva.
