I thoroughly agree with all her remarks. The great cries from those in the Industry that this will be its end are wholly unjustified and not thought through. As Lisbeth says the tax credit system is still in place as, hopefully, will be the Office of the British Film Commissioner (The Film Industry’s Sales office) which is substantially responsible for Inward Investment believed to be last year around the £1bn mark. The Government has replaced a rather top heavy quango with an expanded BFI and I believe that this will have a beneficial effect on the Industry providing the BFI will have learnt the lessons that Lisbeth refers to.
