  • Yet another big named Partner leaving a UK firm for a US one!!!!! Andrews Kurth maybe a relatively unknown quantity to most- certainly as far as the London market is concerned, but not for long! I fully expect them to make giant strides in a smart and stylish fashion. Andrews Kurth is most certainly a classy act in the US and with the on boarding of Peter Roberts this is going to be a firm to watch very very closely.

  • A great hire for Andrews Kurth. Roberts is a class act and is certain to attract equally as impressive lawyers to the firm. He will create a high-end, highly credible London office. Great stuff.

  • Andrews Kurth have done well to get a high profile player like Roberts - a big loss for Ashurst's Energy team but a great way for Andrew Kurth to start their O&G practice in the UK.

  • This is unequivocally an appointment to really stand up and take notice of. Quite simply a superb hire by Andrews Kurth, and based on what I know of the firm, it appears to be a very good opportunity for Peter (who in my opinion is one of the best in his field) to build the preeminent Oil & Gas practice in London.

Small London office boutiques such as Quinn Emanuel (Litigation), Hage Aaronson (Tax), Powell Gilbert (IP) and the many other successful practice/sector specialist legal outfits that appear to have recently sprung onto our radars have shown the bigger firms a thing or two about the importance of playing to your strengths and offering a specialist client service that is geared around quality and expertise not quantity and size.

  • very smart AK and PR, will be a good fit if you get the Anglo/American upstream practice right and keep the office real. We hire lawyers not firms, so we buy the logic.
