The Lawyer Global Litigation Top 50 report is the only ranking of international law firms by litigation and arbitration revenue and is essential reading for anyone seeking to benchmark their litigation and dispute resolution practices...
This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
For once the big news this week in The Lawyer Management isn’t about layoffs, mergers or firms collapsing. This edition celebrates those firms that have made it onto the shortlist for our inaugural awards, which will be held on 24 September.
From global diversity initiatives at DLA Piper, revenue-generating social media tools at Taylor Wessing and large-scale refurbishment at Freshfields to post Cobbetts acquisition integration at DWF, ‘start-up eco systems’ in Orrick’s City offices and one of the market’s youngest partners and senior business support heads at Roberts Jackson in the shape of Gladys Swaim-Rutter, it’s all here. For more detail on the reasons why the firm’s shortlisted for this year’s 14 awards have made the grade, read The Lawyer’s print edition on Monday.
And as ever with awards, it goes without saying that any firm or chambers that is nominated is already a winner. Our hunch however is that if you’re shortlisted, you’ll want to show up on 24 September to see if you’re the kind of winner that also gets to pick up a gong.
But it’s not all about awards this week. Market upheaval is never far from the thoughts of senior business support professionals, not least those working in finance teams. For the most up to date point of view from an insider at Barclays, banker to many of the UK top 200, check out corporate director Lee Everson’s article. Everson says that price points and service models are the first areas on which the UK legal market is segmenting, but there is much more to come. Who can argue?
In addition to these stories, check out the Legal Eye briefing on minimising risk and maximising compliance and allow Informance to reveal how how lawyers can view, analyse and interact with data and monitor their firm’s financial performance more effectively.
