Insurance expenses giant Das Group has completed its acquisition of Bristol personal injury firm CW Law.
CW Law, which has around 60 staff, was recently granted an ABS licence by the SRA and will now be acquired by Das Group as part of a long-held plan. CW Law will rebrand as Das Law following the integration.
As far back as 2011, Das stated its desire to acquire a law firm, and named CW Law as its target (6 November 2011). At the end of 2011, Das Group bought Everything Legal, which owned legal consumer information web site Law on the Web, in a bid to create a brand in the legal sector online.
In a statement, Das UK Group’s CEO Paul Asplin, who will become chairman of CW Law, said: “Now that we’ve finally realised the long held ambition to incorporate a law firm into the Das Group, we are in a position to move ahead with our plans to position Das as a significant provider of legal services as well as the leading legal protection insurer.
“Not only will owning a law firm enable us to offer a seamless service to our policyholders with legal protection claims, but it will also put us in a position to provide fixed-price legal services to consumers.”
