Ogier elects new Jersey managing partner

Offshore firm Ogier has shuffled its Jersey management team, with Matthew Swan taking over the office managing partner role from Matthew Thompson.

Litigation partner Thompson returns to full-time client work after four years as the office managing partner.

Swan will combine the position with client work. He is also head of Ogier’s business and trust law group and the Jersey banking team. The role of managing partner for Jersey was not contested.

He said: “Matthew Thompson has made an exceptional Managing Partner and our legal business in Jersey has continued to grow under his term of office, despite a challenging economic environment.”
