Ogier and Boxalls merge to form offshore giant

In the first transatlantic merger of offshore law firms, Channel Islands firm Ogier and Cayman Islands firm Boxalls are to link up as of 1 February 2004.

The merger will create a 24-partner firm with a total of approximately 110 lawyers, and offices in Jersey, Guernsey, the Cayman Islands and London.

Ogier chairman Jonathan White said: “There is strong and growing demand for the provision of offshore services by top tier organisations in well-regulated jurisdictions.”

The Cayman Islands office will be known as Ogier & Boxalls, whereas the other offices will continue to practice under the name Ogier & La Masurier. Boxalls’ fiduciary business will be known as Ogier Fidcuiary Services.
