Osborne Clarke London managing partner Tim Birt has been named as the successor to senior partner to Leslie Perrin.
Birt, head of the firm’s advertising and marketing services group, will take over from Perrin on 1 May.
Perrin announced he was retiring from the partnership after 16 years at the firm in December (www.thelawyer.com, 6 Dec, 2005) to pursue a fresh career.
Birt joined OC in 1987 to help establish the London office, and was made a partner in 1988 focusing on marketing services, media and e-business sectors for M&A and corporate work. He will divide his time between senior partner duties and his corporate work.
OC managing Partner Simon Beswick said: "Tim has a vast and in-depth understanding of the firm built up over many years and a clear awareness of the goals and challenges facing us in the coming years.”
Birt said: "I intend to work to further strengthen the partnership and hope to make a significant contribution to the firm's future growth."
