Oakes, Simon

Oakes has just returned from a secondment to the General Counsel’s Division of the Financial Services Authority, where he was attached to the markets, funds and authorisations team, providing advice on a range of matters, and drafting sections of the Handbook.

Over the last year, Oakes also gained experience of public law, acting as support counsel to the Al-Sweady Inquiry, a public inquiry into allegations of ill treatment and unlawful killing by British soldiers in Iraq.
