The NSPCC has appointed a new head of legal following the departure of Catherine Dixon, who left earlier this year to become chief executive of the NHS Litigation Authority.
Alexis Burnetts, who trained at Berwin Leighton Paisner, had been filling in as head of legal since Dixon left in April 2012. She has now been appointed to the role permanently. She will lead a team of nine lawyers and support staff.
Before joining the NSPCC, Burnetts was an in-house solicitor at the National Childminding Association.
In a statement, David Roberts, Director of Corporate Services, said: “Alexis is heading a very talented pool of lawyers who will continue to carry out vital work which benefits some of the most vulnerable children in the country.
