Norton Rose's Paris employment chief defects to local firm Franklin

French firm Franklin has beefed up its Paris employment practice with the hire of Norton Rose’s French employment chief.

Claire Fougea

Claire Fougea has joined the Paris-based firm to head the employment practice. She has brought associates Alice Mony, Maïté Ollivier and Marilyne Peron with her.

The news comes just weeks after Franklin lost its employment head to Paris firm Jeantet Associes. Patrick Thiebart left at the end of September, taking seven lawyers with him.

Fougea’s practice focuses on the contentious and non-contentious aspects of employment law. While at Norton Rose she regularly represented clients in litigation proceedings in French courts.

Her clients are mainly in the IT, manufacturing, financial institutions, distribution, training and advertising sectors.

Fougea had been a partner in Norton Rose’s Paris office since 2002.

A Norton Rose spokesman said: “We’ll be seeking to replace Claire and she leaves with our best wishes.”

In the meantime Norton Rose will continue to work with Fougea, passing work to Franklin.
