  • I'm not sure whether Norton Rose are optimistic or delusional. Do they really believe that a hook up with Fulbrights is going to have no effect on the referrals they've been getting out of the States? Most self respecting US law firms will have been firming up their contacts all round the City the moment they heard the news.

  • Hmmm, ask Mayer Brown, DLA Piper, Jones Day, SNR Denton, K&L Gates and Squire Sanders London partners how their US referrals went after merging with US firms. Zilch, Zero, Nada, Nuffin. This article is hilarious, if you're an NR partner dependent on US referrals get out now cause its all about to stop. eel really sorry for the Canadians caught up in this - what were you thinking?

  • Looks like some over-eager journalist just HAD to find SOME negative angle about the deal and pulled this one out of the hat. The referral work from US firms, as valuable as it is to any firm, will be hugely outweighed by the worldwide business created for NR by having a large presence in the States.
