Norton Rose to rival magic circle on NQ pay

Norton Rose is increasing newly-qualified pay to £55,000 in a move designed to ensure the firm offers competitive associate and trainee salaries.

Newly-qualified lawyers will see their pay rise from £50,000, bringing pay at Norton Rose close to the £55,100 announced earlier today by Linklaters.

The firm is also raising first-year trainee pay to £30,000 from £28,500. Trainees in their second year will now receive £33,500, up from £32,000.

A firm spokesperson said that associate salaries generally would “remain competitive”.
