Norton Rose seals third Canada deal with employment bolt-on

Norton Rose has made another acquisition in Canada, swallowing up a two-partner employment and labour boutique in Calgary.

Armstrong Mitchell Lawyers will become a part of Norton Rose on 1 March 2013. Partners William Armstrong QC and Timothy Mitchell will join Norton Rose along with two associates. Amstrong Mitchell advises both private and public sector employers on labour relations, employment, human rights and health and safety cases.

This will be Norton Rose’s third firm acquisition in Canada, though on a much smaller scale than the previous two. Norton Rose merged with Macleod Dixon on 1 January 2012 (4 October 2011) and Ogilvy Renault on 1 June 2011 (15 November 2011).

On 1 June 2013, Norton Rose will merge with US firm Fulbright & Jaworski, and will go by the name Norton Rose Fulbright (14 November 2012).
