Norton Rose has appointed employment partner Wayne Spanner as the new head of its Australian operations.
He takes over as managing partner of Norton Rose Australia from tax partner Don Boyd on 1 January 2012.
Boyd has served over 10 years in charge of both Norton Rose’s offering down under and, previously, Australian firm Deacons. Norton Rose and Deacons merged in 2010.
Sydney-based Spanner, a litigator, is currently global practice leader for the employment and labour group and is a member of Norton Rose Australia’s executive team.
Global deputy managing partner Tim Marsden said: “I’m really happy to see Wayne’s got the job. He’s a great guy to work with.”
Spanner stood unopposed for the role.
